Love letter to Ophelia

Dear Ophelia,
I'm writing you this letter because you haven't answered any of my calls. I left you messeges on your machine but I guess its broken because you haven't called back...With this in mind I took the liberty of sending you a new answering machine a few weeks ago but I guess it must have gotten lost in the mail because you still haven't called back. Come to think of it, I hope this letter makes it to you. I'm sure you've been very busy lately which is why I've heard less from you. I hope to see or hear from you soon. I'll be periodically calling you at intervals of 15 minutes, sending you frequent text messeges and regularly checking your Facebook. I'll also be standing outside of your window every night this week holding a boom box over my head hoping you might come outside to greet me. I miss you dearly my love.

This is fantastic, Rose. Hamlet is clingy and desperate, to the point where he is overbearing and even creepy. I love that you went with this instead of a sappy love note. From reading this letter, I would definitely think Hamlet had lost it, which is exactly what everyone else thinks has happened to him.
P.S. nice allusion to that 80s teen romance movie (Say Anything?)

I love this note! It's great how Hamlet clearly comes off lovesick even resorting to sending her a new voicemail. I thought it accurately showed Hamlet's madness, easily conveying it toward Polonius. Lovestruck, worried, and even crazed, Hamlet seems to do anything to gain her love. Polonius would have surely been tricked into believing he was severely lovesick with this note, good job!

Rose, while I like the sarcasm this post has, I think that it could have felt a little more genuine. It almost feels like Hamlet is mocking Ophelia. Plus, for someone who is so lovesick, there really isn't a lot of detail or description. He seems to be rushing through his sentiments more than trying to convey to her that he is lovesick.

(This is from Kelli - she couldn't post.)

Lol Rose this was so funny :) I love how desperate and obsessive you've made this Hamlet. I feel it fits in great with Hamlet's descent into madness (especially if the play were in modern times). That last part about him standing under her window every night that week with a boombox had me in a giggle fit. This was such a creative take on Hamlet (that I never thought of).
